The Khalifites (19ers)

This group is actually outside the fold of Islaam and its adherents are not considered Muslims. Its founder, Rashad Khalifa, came up with a mathematical formula around the number 19 and claimed that the Qur'ân was constructed around this number.

These are the Rejectors of the Sunnah, and spring from the works of Ghulaam Ahmad Parweiz and Rashad Khalifa, both of whom were declared apostates, due to their very clear and apparent kufr.

History
Rashad Khalifa, b. 1935 CE. Biochemist be profession.  Made a 'translation' of the Qur'ân and called it the "Authorized English Version."  Announced 'mathematical miracle of the Qur'ân' in '74, and claimed to have discovered that 2 verses had been added.  In 1408 AH, claimed to Messenger of Allah. Assassinated in 1990.

Beliefs and Practices

• That the Qur'ân was corrupted, just like other scriptures!

• That the Qur'ân is the only source of legislation, and that hadeeth is corrupted and unacceptable!

• Emphasis on numerology (based on the number 19) as a means of deduction of facts and legislation.

• That Allah did not order Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) to sacrifice his son.

• That Muslims idolized Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his Household).

• That  Prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) died.

• That Rashad Khalifa was a Messenger of Allah!

• That the computer is the Beast of the Earth, that Ya'juj and Ma'juj will appear in 2271 CE,  and that the end of the world will be in 2280 CE.

• That Hell is not yet created.

• That Islam is based on the Qur'ân and the religious practices of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him), but that these were corrupted by people.

• That the age of responsibility is 40.

• That adulterers are not stoned, and that thieves do not get their hands amputated.

• That hijab is not a religious practice.
